- Stewart W. Fisher was selected for the 2009 edition of The

Carolina Super Lawyers - 2009 publication in the field of
employment and labor law. Mr. Fisher was also recognized in the
Super Lawyers publication as one of the Top 100 lawyers in the State

personal injury law.
- March 28, 2009 - Carlos E. Mahoney spoke about handling settlements involving a minor at a continuing paralegal education course sponsored by the North Carolina Paralegal Association.
- March 6, 2009 - William S. Mills and Carlos E. Mahoney obtained a total jury verdict in the amount of $5,500,000 on behalf of the Firm’s clients in two personal injury actions and a wrongful death claim against the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office. The Firm’s clients were severely injured and their two-year-old child was killed when a patrol car driven by a sheriff’s deputy hit the rear of their car as they were traveling home in the slow-lane on Interstate 40-East near Old Fort, NC.
- December 4, 2008 - William S. Mills and
Carlos E. Mahoney
obtained a $1,100,000 settlement on behalf of the Firm’s client in a
personal injury case against a North Carolina city. The client was
severely injured in a motor vehicle collision with a city recycling
truck.
- November 20, 2008 - Carlos E. Mahoney obtained a successful jury
verdict on behalf of the Firm’s client in a will contest. The jury
set aside the contested will on the grounds that it was procured by
undue influence.
